A National Webinar on “Eco Criticism and Covid 19 Pandemic: A Literary Survey” was organized by the Dept. of English, Morigaon College on 6 July, 2021. Dr. Lila Kanta Barthakur, Principal, Morigaon College inaugurated the webinar and delivered the welcome address. The webinar addressed pertinent issues of immediate concern. Dr. Ratan Bhattacharjee, Trilingual Poet, Novelist and Colunmnist ; Associate Professor and Head, Post Graduate Dept. of English, Dum Dum Motijheel College, Kolkata graced the webinar as the invited speaker. In his invaluable deliberation, Dr. Bhattacharjee emphasized on the need to connect human lives with nature. Lecture Program Understanding Poetic Process: Creation & Interpretation On the occasion of World Poetry Day |
On the occasion of World poetry Day the Department of English celebrated the day on 21/03/2023 at the Conference Hall. The students of the department along with the teachers participated in the programme. Two eminent speakers, Mr. Dhaneswar Bora, Retired Assistant Professor from the Department of Economics and Dr. Nilamoni Phukan, faculty in the Department of Philosophy were invited as the guests and Resource Persons to the programme. At the beginning honourable guests were felicitated. Both the speakers ennobled the occasion by their substantial speeches. The programme was chaired by the Head of the English Department. Then, with the vote of thanks the programme ended. |

Cleanliness Drive at Naokata |
A cleanliness drive programme under Extension Activities and Community Service was undertaken by the teachers and students of English Department on 18/03/2023 in the Naokata market area. The team arrived at the spot at 11a.m. with necessary cleaning tools like broomsticks, sacks, spade, machete, shovel etc. Cleaning work was started after arrival and it continued for 2 hours from 11a.m. to 1p.m. The programme brought about a keen awareness of cleanliness among the local populace. |
